Referral programme questions
How does the Digital Oxygen referral programme work?
You introduce a business that needs a website, custom software, a mobile app or technology leadership. We contact them, scope the work and, if they become a paying client, we pay you a commission on the project. The commission is confirmed in writing before work starts and paid once the client has paid.
Do I need to be an affiliate to refer a lead?
No. Anyone can refer a single lead using the Refer a lead form, with no sign-up. If you expect to send us introductions regularly, becoming an affiliate gives you a direct contact on our team, a simpler process for each referral and updates on every lead.
How much commission will I earn?
Commission is a share of the value of the project your referral signs. Because projects range from a website to a multi-phase software platform, we confirm the exact amount in writing for each referral before the project starts, so you always know what you will earn.
When is commission paid?
Commission is paid after the referred client has paid their invoice to Digital Oxygen. For projects billed in phases, we pay commission as each phase is paid.
What makes a good referral?
A business with a real need and the intention to act on it, for example a company replacing spreadsheets with a proper system, launching a new website, building an app or looking for senior technology advice. A warm introduction, where the lead knows to expect our call, converts far better than a cold contact.
Do I need permission before referring someone?
Yes. Before you share anyone’s contact details with us, they must know you are doing so and agree to be contacted by Digital Oxygen. This is required by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Please only share business contact details and what they need, never sensitive personal information.
What happens to the referred person’s information?
When we first contact them, we tell them who referred them, where we got their details and why we are in touch, and they can ask us to stop at any time. If they are not interested, we delete their details and keep only a minimal record so they are not contacted again. Their information is never sold or shared for anyone else’s marketing.
What if the lead is already talking to Digital Oxygen?
If we are already in contact with a business when your referral arrives, we will let you know straight away. Commission applies to new introductions, and we tell you openly where a lead stands.
